Javiera Mena is a indie electro pop singer-songwriter from Santiago, Chile. She started her musical career in the Chilean indie music scene in 2001, and transformed into one of the most relevant Chilean indie acts after the release of her first studio album, Esquemas Juveniles in 2006.
Javiera has been performing live since age 17, her first concert was in a classroom of Campus Juan Gómez Millas at the University of Chile. In 2002, she began to study musical composition and musical arrangement while also performing at underground parties and clubs. In 2003, she entered the studio for the first time, and recorded various demos which leaked to the internet shortly thereafter. In 2004, she performed outside Chile for the first time, opening for Argentinean electropop band Entre Ríos in Buenos Aires.
Javiera’s second album, after more than 4 years of production and mastering, was released in 2010 entitled just Mena. This work took a more dancefloor-oriented taste compared to her first album. iTunes Mexico in December of this year considered Mena as the breakthrough album of the year.

The artist who made everyone dance with her superb performances at the Primavera Sound Festival 2011 and her successful 2012 Spanish tour, that natural-looking girl and melodies that make everybody dance who has garnered a legion of fans and followers. The new heroine of Spanish pop and electronic will perform in London tomorrow, the 18th of June at the Old Blue Last (Old Street Station).
